Zanzibar Tourism Show: “The ultimate business event for the domestic and international tourism industry,” in the region was opened and inaugurated by the guest of honor and president of Zanzibar, His Excellency Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein. It was the first of its kind and we at Fumba Town are proud to sponsor new and valuable initiatives like this on our beautiful island.

The Zanzibar Tourism show was a huge opportunity to keep up-to-date with tourism industry trends. It featured an exhibition with over 120 exhibitors, free seminars and tourism talks that will help develop businesses for Zanzibar. The Zanzibar Tourism Show attracted international buyers from all around the world to communicate and connect with tourism professionals.

This year’s motto was “Sustainable Tourism” which fits very well into our goal of developing sustainable housing for Zanzibar. The Head of Fumba Town Service Center, Franko Göhse held a great speech on “Connecting Tourism to Sustainable Local Development”, where he layed out our efforts of empowering local youth by giving them education and employment in the sectors of Waste Management and Landscaping. These skills are also sought after in the tourism industry, where most of our absolvents get employment aside from the Fumba Town Service Center.

The Zanzibar Tourism show was a great success and a great platform for Fumba Town to showcase our products as well as present our engagement within the local community regarding sustainable development.
